The winery in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga Località Carpineta (province of Siena) in the Italian region of Tuscany lies at the foot of the Montaperti hill. This was the historical site of the 1260 battle between the Bedcian city-states of Siena and Florence, which was later mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy. The winery was founded in 1967 by Italo Cresti; the family's winemaking tradition dates back to the 19th century. Today it is run by the siblings Filippo and Gioia Cresti and the new generation, represented by Sara Cresti. They also rent out a small flat for three people for holidays on a winery.

The vineyards cover 30 hectares of vines on the southern edge of the Chianti Classico region. They are mainly planted with Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, as well as small parcels of Alicante Henri Bouschet, Gamay and Chardonnay. The vineyards are cultivated according to ICEA-certified rules of organic viticulture. The quality criteria are reduced yields and selective hand-picking in several passes.

The wines are based on the philosophy "Do Ut Des" (meaning "I give so that you give" = "quid pro quo"), which emphasises dedication, patience and trust in nature. The product range includes various DOCG Chianti-Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi wines as well as IGT Toscana. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks and cement vats, the wines are aged in 15 or 25 litre French oak barrels and 500 litre tonneaux.
The company's premium wines include Vigna Montaperto Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG and Vigna Dofana Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG (100% Sangiovese from cru vineyards, aged for 18 months) and Do Ut Des Toscana IGT (one third each of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot). Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced each year, which are exported to northern Europe, Canada and the USA.
