Deep nose, ripe, partly preserved black berries and some dried cherries and plums, hints of cedar wood and sweetish Havana tobacco, sweetish spicy and light roasted notes. Concentrated and juicy on the palate, extremely ripe, firmly structured noble fruit, oak hardly noticeable any more, elegant acid bite, loads of extremely fine, perfect tannins, full-bodied and powerful but also has some cool elements, some licorice, prominent, slightly salty mineral notes, excellent depth and length.

Best to drink: Bis 2012+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Dichtes, jugendliches Granat. Verschlossene, sehr tief, schwarzbeerige Nase mit röstiger Holzwürze. Konzentrierte, saftige Frucht, holzwürzig, mit Massen an leicht staubigem Tannin, am Gaumen Lakritz, Zwetschgenmus und eingekochte schwarze Johannisbeeren, tief und nachhaltig, enorme Kraft, sehr langer, saftiger, konzentrierter Abgang. Legt mit der Reife vielleicht noch zu.
