2014 Frühburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Ripe red and black berries on the nose, light toasted oak, dried aubergines and beet root, hint of tobacco, earthy notes. Tart, fairly dark fruit on the palate, light oak and some ashes, fairly prominent fine, sandy tannins, light earthy notes, hint of tobacco and peppery notes in the background, good persistence, hint of bacon, not particularly deep, some bite, very slightly brittle oak on a good to very good tart finish.
