2013 Pinot Noir Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Light toasted, spicy oak on the nose, predominantly red and a few black berries, earthy, nutty and dried vegetal notes, touch of aubergine, cardamom and licorice. Tart fruit on the palate, nutty, toasted, slightly smoky oak, dried flowers, fine sandy tannins, slightly astringent, spicy notes in the background, medium body, hint of tobacco and coffee, not particularly deep, light acid bite, slightly bitter touch, slightly brittle on a good to very good finish.
