2016 Pinot Noir "Le Schulz", Rheingau, Germany

Tart, fairly deep nose, nutty and earthy notes, dried vegetal notes and a hint of tobacco, restrained berry fruit, smoky oak and a hint of ashes, mushrooms and Mediterranean herbs. Firm, deep, tart, initially slightly muted fruit on the palate, hint of mushrooms and peppery notes, some oak, hint of tobacco, some ashes in the background, prominent salty notes, fine sandy tannins, Mediterranean herbs, hint of mushrooms and peppery traces, still undeveloped, gains juiciness, depth and complexity over several days of aeration, hint of citrus zests, peppery spice, very good, long, mineral, tart, juicy finish.
