2014 Langhe DOC Pinot Nero Campo del Frate, Piedmont, Italy

Dried-vegetable and somewhat undergrowthy scent with red and black berry notes as well as dried-mushroomy and earthy tones. Quite tight and surprisingly cool, acidic-juicy fruit, fine sandy tannin, persistent, lots of bite, dried-vegetable, undergrowth and nutty tones, a hint of pepper, salty and chalky nuances, good to very good, tart finish, again with lots of bite
