The white grape variety (also Antonio Vaz) comes from Portugal. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it is the result of a presumably natural cross between Cayetana Blanca x João Domingos. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). The medium ripening vine is generally well resistant to vine diseases and drought. It produces fresh white wines with a balanced alcohol-acid content and aromas of tropical fruits. The variety is mainly used as a blend in the Alentejo, Extremadura and Península de Setúbal...

The white grape variety comes from Portugal. After its second main name, Arinto de Bucelas, it probably originates from this area around Lisbon. Others are Assario Branco, Arintho, Arinto Cercial, Arinto d'Anadia, Arinto Galego, Arintho, Azal Espanhol, Boal Cachudo, Chapeludo, Pedernã, Terrantez da Terceira and Torrontés. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. The vine must not be confused with the varieties Arinto de Colares, Bical (Arinto de Alcobaça), Dorinto (Arinto do Douro), Folgasão, Terrantez da Terceira, Loureiro (Arinto Branco), Malvasia...
