Editor note: Fully mature nose, black berries and dried prunes, smoky and malted notes, tar and lots of lovage, leathery notes. Again fully mature on the palate, but quite juicy in the mouth, sweetish and creamy, roasted oak and chocolate, fine but slightly dry tannins, smoked meat, full-bodied, good persistence, not particularly deep, noticeable alcohol and slightly astringent notes on an attractive to good finish.

DOCG area for red wine in the Italian region of Tuscany. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 250 to 400 metres above sea level in the two municipalities of Carmignano and Poggio a Caiano on the northern slopes of Monte Albano on the northern bank of the Arno in the province of Prato, 15 kilometres northwest of Florence.
