2021 Spätburgunder Landwein, Neckar, Germany

Nutty, somewhat leathery and slightly tobacco-like nose with notes of dried root vegetables, mixed berries and a hint of undergrowth and wild mushrooms. Red and black fruit with prominent smoky, roasted oak, some bite and fine sandy, youthful tannins, some persistence, slightly sweetish mellowness, dried vegetal to tobacco notes, some pepper, chalky, salty hints, good to very good finish with slightly bitterish oak spice and a little sweetness again.
