2015 Neuenahr Sonnenberg Frühburgunder, Ahr, Germany

Light earthy notes on the nose, dried herbs, hint of tobacco, red berries, cherries and cassis, peppery traces,light mineral notes, hint of bacon, whiff of watermelon. Tart, fairly light-bodied, fairly polished fruit on the palate, nutty and earthy notes, malted traces, dried floral notes, fine sandy tannins, good persistence, delicate hint of smoked bacon and some chestnuts, vegetal traces, noticeable salty notes in the background, opens up significantly with aeration, some bite on a very good cool finish.
