2015 Mayschoss Mönchberg Spätburgunder, Ahr, Germany

Smoky, earthy and leathery notes on the nose, ripe black and red berries, hint of tobacco, dried flowers, spicy notes, hint of bacon, coriander and cocoa. Firm, juicy, tart fruit on the palate, firm, fine tannins, noticeable fresh acid bite, hint of bacon, some pomegranate, persistent, fairly concentrated, spicy mineral notes, some depth, very good firm, juicy finish.
