2015 Marienthal Trotzenberg Spätburgunder, Ahr, Germany

Quite clearly developed, somewhat woody aroma of red and a little black berries with nutty, earthy and tobacco nuances as well as a little dried mushroom. Clear, finely juicy, quite polished fruit, nutty and somewhat roasted wood flavours with a hint of cocoa and tobacco, crumbly-sandy tannin and a certain acid bite, good persistence, a little dried mushrooms, thus also a little umami, good persistence, very slightly drying wood, hints of salt in the background, still very nice to drink, only you can already notice the advanced maturity a little in the very slightly melting finish.

Editor note: Earthy nose, hint of mushrooms and bacon, red and a few black berries, some root vegetables, juniper, mineral traces. Ripe, juicy fruit on the palate, vegetal notes, light oak, some mushrooms, bacon, salty and delicate peppery notes, juniper in the background, grippy, very slightly astringent tannins, smoky traces, firm bite, still young, smoky notes and undergrowth on a very good firm finish.
