2015 Ahrweiler Spätburgunder, Ahr, Germany

Developed, smoky, nutty aroma of red and black berries with vegetal and slightly mushroomy flavours. Slender, tart, developed fruit, smoky and slightly roasted notes, some forest floor and leaves in the background, hints of mushrooms again, good persistence, some bite and crumbly tannins, clear minerality, very good finish with slightly drying wood notes and plenty of bite.

Fairly juicy tart fruit on the palate, bacon and oak, hint of soup greens, earthy notes, undergrowth and some rhubarb, good persistence, some acid bite, fine sandy tannins, herbaceous traces, hint of mushrooms, firm grip, mineral notes in the background, good to very good finish.
