2019 Barolo DOCG Baudana, Piedmont, Italy

Quite firm, slightly dried herbal scent with fine red and black berry aromas, a touch of tomato and a hint of tobacco and tar in the background. Ripe, quite fresh, juicy, rather red fruit, fine, youthful tannin and some bite, nutty and a hint of tobacco spice, persistent, some depth, relatively light-footed style despite its power, almost drinkable, although recognisably young, fine spice, a hint of liquorice, very good finish with fine juice and lots of salt.
