2018 Barbaresco DOCG Basarin, Piedmont, Italy

Slightly floral, fine-vegetable and a little mushroomy scent of predominantly red berries and a hint of liquorice. Ripe, relatively juicy fruit, crumbly tannin, nutty barrel tones, good persistence on the palate, a little tobacco, liquorice again, tart spicy nuances in the background, a little salt, not too deep, noticeably liquorice, good to very good finish with tobacco and again mushroomy hints.
