2006 Barbaresco DOCG Basarin, Piedmont, Italy

Partly preserved red berries and some plums on the nose, citrus aromas, wilted flowers and some licorice. Restraiend fruit on the palate, some oak and wilted flowers, fairly light-bodied in spite of the high alcohol, integrated, slightly astringent tannins, not particularly deep, herbaceous notes and some tobacco, buttery notes and some citrus zests, slightly brittle with a hint of cigar ash on an attractive to good finish.
