Aroma of partly preserved black berries with chocolaty wood spice, a hint of tar, juniper and tobacco. Ripe dark fruit, smoky, chocolaty and peppery notes, some dry herbs and juniper, relatively present, still a touch drying tannin, lots of power and warming alcohol, good persistence, smoky sooty wood flavours, some salt, very good, tart, warm alcohol and somewhat woody-bitter v finish.

Best to drink: 2023-2027+. What our ratings mean
