Fairly open nose, preserved red and black currants, herbaceous notes, hint of plums and bruised apple. Slightly mature again on the palate, preserved plums and red berries, herbaceous notes and old oak, hint of chocolate, fairly prominent and slightly astringent tannins, has some substance, astringent on an attractive to good finish.
