2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Chardonnay Riserva "Burgum Novum", Alto Adige, Italy

Nutty and somewhat root-vegetable nose, ripe citrus fruit with notes of pomaceous and stone fruit, light smoky oak, hint of pulses and a hint of bacon. Ripe, quite juicy, melting fruit, nutty and vegetal flavours, somewhat reminiscent of celery, again smoky wood, a little mushroom and bacon on the palate, also reminiscent of green beans, a little pepper, chalky-salty tones in the background, a lot of power, firm structure, very good, tart finish with grip and spice.

Best to drink: Mitte 2024 bis 2029+. What our ratings mean
