2019 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Pinot Nero "Mazon", Alto Adige, Italy

Slightly dried vegetal, delicately smoky, mushroomy and earthy nose with more red berry than black berry aromas and very light bacony-animalic tones. Rather tart, yet ripe, somewhat warm fruit with smoky and dried planty to tobacco notes, juniper and hints of herbs, fine sandy tannin, some bite, good persistence, ethereal hints on the palate, a little salt, noticeable alcohol, a hint of coffee, good to very good, a hint of drying finish with some bitterness.

Editor note: Slightly dried-vegetable and -floral scent of predominantly red berries with mushroomy and herbal nuances. Ripe, juicy, straightforward fruit, some dark wood spice with cocoa and coffee notes, a little nutty, crumbly tannin, good persistence, has power, a hint of bacon and pepper in the background, very good finish with warming alcohol but also cooling mineral hints.
