2015 Edesheim Ordensgut Grauburgunder Auslese trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Warm, sweet, candied nutty and caramel nose of very ripe yellow fruits with buttery notes, some mushrooms and vegetable tones. Warm and soft in the mouth, restrained fruit, smoky, mushy, somewhat woody and earthy notes, hinted herbs on the palate, also bacon, good substance and persistence, sweetish enamel, noticeable but integrated alcohol, salt in the background, good to very good, somewhat smoky finish, again with mushroom and vegetable aromas and a hint of tobacco. A bit rustic, but very well done in its way
