2009 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Campenn, Alto Adige, Italy

Red berries on the nose, herbs and spices, peppery and mineral traces. Cool, tart fruit on the palate, light spicy oak, vegetal and earthy notes, elegant acidity, moderate tannins, very slightly astringent, smoky notes and bacon, good persistence, quite full-bodied, some cool elements, candied nuts in the background, good finish. Unusual, but good.
