2019 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Sauvignon "Puiten", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm, herbaceous to herbaceous, almost cool bouquet with white, yellow and green fruity aromas and a hint of elderflower. Ripe, somewhat warm, densely knit, melting fruit, planty to herbal spiciness and nutty to slightly woody aromas, some pepper on the palate, also dark berries in the background, lasting, much power, certain depth, ethereal nuances, slightly reminiscent of juniper, plus a hint of cardamom and cinnamon spiciness, very good, somewhat warm and melting, also juicy finish. Currently not quite as exciting as at our first tasting.

Editor note: Firm, relatively cool, complex, herbal and nutty scent of yellow fruits with delicate floral and slightly ethereal nuances as well as light mineral hints. Polished, quite firm fruit with delicate melting, a hint of candy and some light-woody aromas, fine, lively acidity, hints of lemon verbena and cardamom, dense and persistent on the palate, some fine sandy tannin, a hint of tobacco, some depth, chalky minerality, very good to long, again a little light-woody finish.
