2021 Spätburgunder trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Smoky and somewhat dried vegetal to herbaceous nose with aromas of black and red berries, some woody spice and a little pepper. Tart, juicy, youthful, rather cool fruit, smoky and nutty wood spice, still slightly yeasty tones, some tobacco, lively acidity and still relatively present, fine sandy tannins, certain persistence, forest mushrooms in the background, herbal and salty nuances, good to very good finish. Serious Pinot for little money.
