2019 Bingen Spätburgunder VDP.Aus Ersten Lagen, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm, somewhat smoky-roasty and slightly malty aroma of ripe, partly preserved black berries and cherries with a little dry herbs, juniper and dried vegetal notes. Again partly preserved fruit, some smoky and toasty notes, slightly nutty, herbal tones and juniper, crumbly-sandy, slightly drying tannin, warming alcohol, a little salt, good to very good, relatively firm, again also warm finish with jammy hints.

Editor note: Warm, somewhat smoky, hints of tobacco and wood and a hint of malty scent of black berries with a little reminiscent of soup stock, malt and dried floral tones as well as root vegetables, juniper and noticeable alcohol. Ripe, somewhat jammy fruit with some acid bite and sandy, somewhat drying tannins, nutty, cocoa-spicy and slightly tobacco on the palate, malt in the background, smoky wood notes, not very deep, noticeable alcohol warmth, warm, again somewhat sweetly jammy finish with coffee spice.
