2021 trocken "Cuvée Gustav", Pfalz, Germany

Festive and quite complex, somewhat spicy, nutty and vegetable to dried-herb nose with more black than red berries with a hint of dark bread, meat juice and hinted beetroot. Ripe, firm, juicy fruit with fine vegetable aromas, a trace of blood and hinted Christmas spices, in the background bittersweet chocolate wood notes, some walnut and leather, good sustainability, certain depth, earthy-mineral tones, has despite all strength also cool plant notes, very good, gripping finish with a bit of juniper and tar.
