The winery is located in the municipality of Niederhausen in the German Nahe
wine region. Together with his father, Oskar, who died in 1993, Helmut Mathern set the course for the ascent in the 1980s. After his early death in 2002, his widow Gloria, who was trained as an interior designer, took over the business. Julien Chevalier is responsible as cellar master and oenologist
. The guest house "Alte Schule" is attached. The vineyards comprise 11 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Felsensteyer
, Pfaffenstein, Rosenberg
and Rosenheck (Niederhausen), as well as Dellchen
(Norheim). They are mainly planted with Riesling (9 ha), as well as the varieties Dornfelder, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc and Würzer. They also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wine, Secco (sparkling wine), grape juice, yeast brandy and liqueurs. About 70,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
