The winery is located in the community of Hainfeld (area Südliche Weinstraße) in the German wine region
Pfalz. The family history goes back to the year 1538. An estate restaurant "Landhaus Herrenberg" is attached. The business is managed by Stefan and Jürgen Lergenmüller. The vineyards cover about 85 hectares of vineyards with over 300 individual plots of land over a length of ten kilometres along the wine route from Godramstein to Rhodt. They are planted with the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Dornfelder, Portugieser, Merlot, St. Laurent and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the white wine varieties Grauburgunder, Riesling, Weißburgunder, Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau, Scheurebe, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Silvaner, Kerner and Muskateller. Only healthy, fully ripe grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature after gentle pressing
The red wines are traditionally fermented on the mash. The wines are mainly vinified dry. No names of the vineyards are used. Under "Terroir wines" the red wine cuvées Philipp L. and L.P., the red wines Merlot Red Clay, Pinot Noir Angiolino, Cabernet Sauvignon and St. Laurent Urgestein, as well as the white wines Chardonnay pure mineral, Pinot Blanc Muschelkalk, Pinot Gris Buntsandstein and Sauvignon Blanc Feuerstein are produced. Further wines are available under the name "Cépages". Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. In 1998 the vineyard
St. Annaberg (Burrweiler) was taken over. In 2013 the takeover of
Schloss Reinhartshausen (Eltville-Erbach) followed. All three wineries are managed independently.
