2019 Varnhalt Klosterbergfelsen Felsenstück Spätburgunder trocken "Sommerhalde", Baden, Germany

Firm, slightly smoky aroma of ripe black and red berries with cherry nuances, a little tobacco, hints of pepper, iodine, herbs and dried mushrooms. Tight, tangy, ripe fruit, herbal, peppery, slightly smoky and hints of toasty aromas, light acidity, quite present, fine sandy, ripe tannin, persistent, some dark chocolate in the background, a hint of tobacco, earthy and salty tones, hints of bacon, very good, firm finish with relatively cool juice.
