2000 Großkarlbach Burgweg St. Laurent trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Strong, woody fragrance of cassis and cherries. Cool fruit still very much shaped from the wood, very tightly woven, with lively acid and perceptible alcohol, slightly rustic, smoky, with more air increasingly fruity finish. Certainly needs to mature. Unsure valuation, open at the top
