The vineyard "Jul. Ferd. Kimich" is located in the community of Deidesheim (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Palatinate
. It was founded in 1758 by Andreas Kimich, a wine cooper who had immigrated from Alsace. Joachim Arnold married into the family in 1949. Today, the company is managed in the seventh and eighth generation of the family by Franz Arnold and his son Matthias. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Grainhübel
, Leinhöhle, Mäushöhle
(Ruppertsberg), as well as Pechstein
(Forst). They are stocked with the white wine varieties Riesling (70%), Pinot Gris, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay and Scheurebe, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Regent. We consistently practice close-to-nature, environmentally friendly viticulture according to criteria. In the two hundred year old wine cellar, the wines are aged in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks. Approximately 70,000 litres of wine are produced annually, 70% of which is dry. Pearl wines, bottle-fermented sparkling wines and noble brandies (marc, five-year barrel-matured brandy) are also offered.
