2022 Schnait Altenberg Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Youthful nose with restrained, bright yellow-fruity aromas reminiscent of citrus fillets, floral traces, as well as hints of almonds, mussel meat and smoke. Warm, buttery-melting fruit with nutty and smoky wood notes, a hint of cocoa on the palate, fine acidity and some grip from crumbly tannins, relatively high strength and, especially with air, somewhat intrusive alcohol, vegetal and mushroomy nuances in the background, mineral hints, some aniseed, fennel and pepper, good, but again warm and also a little buttery, melting finish.
