Firm, somewhat smoky, leathery and earthy nose, ripe black berries with notes of paprika and some tomato paste, light nutty and tobacco-like oak and dried herbs. Ripe, partly preserved, somewhat warm, emphatically dark fruit, chocolaty, roasted and smoky wood and present, somewhat sandy and drying tannins, lots of power and good persistence, some salt in the background, ethereal-herbal notes, coffee and cocoa, a little ashy bitterness, noticeable alcohol, slightly stewed on a very good, again clearly woody-spicy finish. Gains with plenty of air.

Best to drink: 2026-2034+. What our ratings mean
