2000 Dürkheim Schenkenböhl Grauburgunder Spätlese trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Herbs and spices, slightly grassy, aromas of apples and gooseberries. Clean, quite juicy fruit, straightforward, elegant acidity, on the palate more herbs and spices, as well as hints of gooseberries, delicate mineral notes in the background, harmonious, fruity finish with herbal notes. Would never be recognised as a Pinot Gris in a blind tasting, but is a very well made wine.
