1999 Spätburgunder Spätlese trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Slightly matt garnet red, lighter on the rim. Smoky, spicy oak, accompanied by aromas of red and black berries. Full-bodied fruit with smoky aromas, fine-grained tannins, quite good, juicy structure, powerful body, rich style, quite strong oak but still quite good balance, vanilla notes on finish.
