2020 Schozach Roter Berg Lemberger Grosses Gewächs trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Somewhat smoky, dried-vegetable and a hint of mushroomy scent of ripe mainly black berries and a little cherry with floral nuances, hints of beetroot and very restrained barrel tones. Clear, tart, ripe, quite polished fruit, lively acidity and grip of youthful, yet predominantly crumbly tannins, persistent on the palate, has power, some depth, slightly smoky and hints of toasty notes, salt in the background, floral traces and peppery-etheric hints, a touch of ash, very good finish with bite.
