2019 Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT Sylvaner "Hautnah", Alto Adige, Italy

Somewhat warm, fairly complex, emphatically vegetal nose with celery, savoy cabbage, some egg and a little mustard, nutty notes, tarragon and a hint of smoke and bacon. Ripe, firm, tart, slightly warm fruit, clearly nutty and yeasty flavours, butter, almost a little lard, plus fennel, tarragon and hints of caraway, persistent on the palate, has power, clear minerality, smoky and bacon tones, lots of grip from crumbly tannin, a little drying, hints of broccoli, coffee-spicy wood notes, also nut butter, very good, firm finish, again with egg, mustard and tarragon. Needs a lot of air at the moment.
