2022 Oberbergen Bassgeige Grauburgunder VDP.Grosses Gewächs "Kähner", Baden, Germany

Cool, firm, somewhat tobacco-like, smoky, nutty, and slightly bacon-scented nose with core and stone fruit notes as well as fine vegetal aromas, mushrooms, and a hint of medicinal herbs. Polished, firm, juicy fruit with a bit of richness, a touch of juniper, and nutty wood aromas in the background, fine, lively acidity, tender tannin grip, good substance and sustainability, salty and stony minerality, hinting at oysters, vegetable oil, and a bit of dark bread, very good finish with cool vegetal aromas and nuances reminiscent of Earl Grey.
