2013 Achkarren Schlossberg Spätburgunder trocken Grosses Gewächs "A", Baden, Germany

Deep, very slightly fleshy aroma of ripe mixed berries, some cherries and plums with dried floral nuances, some herbs, leathery tones as well as earthy and tobacco nuances. Ripe, dense, juicy, very slightly warm fruit, crumbly, fine sandy tannins, smoky, nutty and slightly malty flavours, persistent on the palate, good substance and some depth, has power, delicate chocolaty and malty tones, also a little dried flowers, mineral hints in the background, a hint of tobacco, again fleshy nuances, very good to long, warm finish with ripe juice and rather dark spice. Matures somewhat faster than initially expected, but continues to impress.
