2016 Frühburgunder trocken Réserve, Pfalz, Germany

Clear, quite polished nose of predominantly red berries with floral as well as delicately bacony, nutty and herbal aromas. Ripe, juicy, tart fruit with bite and youthful, fine, ripe tannins, grippy on the palate, some smoky and bitter-chocolatey wood, also a little coffee and salt, persistent, has power, very good, quite firm finish with tart juice, smoky-roasty wood and slightly dried-vegetable flavours
