2012 Spätburgunder Landwein, Oberrhein, Germany

Fairly mature nose, dried vegetal notes, hint of bacon, light oak, ripe red berries, cocoa, undergrowth and a touch of root vegetables. Fairly warm preserved fruit on the palate, toasted nutty oak, some chocolate, integrated tannnins, very creamy and sweetish, noticeable warm alcohol, some bacon in the background, earthy notes, slightly jammy on a good to very good warm finish.
