2021 Weißburgunder "sphère", Germany

Firm, clearly nutty and light vegetal nose with pomaceous fruit and citrus notes, some egg white, fresh mushrooms, a hint of nut butter, root vegetables, vanilla and floral tones. Quite firm, tart, still somewhat restless fruit, nutty, yeasty and clearly vegetal flavours, somewhat reminiscent of celery, quite lively acidity, a lot of grip from crumbly tannin, buttery tones, chalky in the background, also slightly resinous, good to very good, somewhat perfumed finish, also still slightly drying.

Best to drink: Mitte 2024 bis 2026+. What our ratings mean
