2019 trocken Cuvée "kleiner Berg", Pfalz, Germany

Slightly smoky, hints of bacon and peppery aroma of red and black berries with cherry notes, peppers, a touch of root vegetables and hints of kidney beans. Ripe predominantly dark fruit with vegetal tones, some paprika, smoke, nutty hints and a hint of soot, some alcohol warmth, very light marmalade tones, light sour bite and crumbly-sandy, moderately drying tannin, peppery nuances, not very deep, a hint of mint, citrus nuances, good to very good finish with lightly smoky bitter.

Editor note: Tart, somewhat herbal, nutty and slightly mushroomy aroma of predominantly black berries with a hint of paprika and dried flowers. Straight, tart and juicy fruit with slightly toasty and nutty wood tones, a hint of dried herbs and peppers again, fine sandy, still slightly drying tannin, good persistence, earthy tones, good to very good finish.
