The winery is located in the community of Traisen in the German Nahe
wine region. The family has been growing wine since the 16th century. Today the estate is managed by Dr. Peter Crusius. The vineyards comprise 17 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Felsensteyer
and Klosterberg (Norheim), Felsenberg
(Schloßböckelheim), as well as Bastei
, Kickelskopf, Nonnengarten and Rotenfels
(Traisen). They are mainly planted with Riesling (65%), as well as Pinot Blanc (20%), Müller-Thurgau (5%), Pinot Noir (5%) and other Burgundy varieties (5%). The company's criteria are quality-oriented work in the vineyard, strict selection during the grape harvest and careful vinification in wooden barrels. In addition to the dry aged wines, ice wines are also produced in suitable years. Around 90,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. We also produce bottle-gorged sparkling wine and yeast brandy. The winery is a member of the VDP
(Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
