2009 Dornfelder trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Spicy and slightly animal, pithy nose on pickled berries with stalky and herbaceous notes. Burnt and earthy notes on the palate, preserved, medium-bodied berry fruit on the palate, slightly less creamy and alcoholic, rustic style, integrated tannins, fairly full-bodied, light-bodied and delicately bitter on an otherwise attractive finish.
