2012 Bockenheim Sonnenberg Spätburgunder trocken R, Pfalz, Germany

Prominent green vegetal and earthy notes on the nose, red and a few black berries, some mushrooms, earthy and mineral notes, hint of lovage and peppery traces. Bone dry, fairly restrained fruit on the palate, significantly more juicy with aeration, prominent nutty oak thzat is increasingly well integrated, earthy and vegetal notes with some root vegetables, good substance and persistence, youthful but integrated sandy tannins, some cocoa and coffee grounds, light bitter touch, leathery notes, some tobacco and ashes, peppery traces, firm structure, very good tart, juicyfinish. Only shows its quality on the second day, should be allowed to mature.
