The winery is located in the community (area Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße) in the German wine-growing region Pfalz. The foundation stone was laid in 1711 by Heinrich Wilhelm Reichardt, who one year later also founded the then inn "Zum Engel" today "Gutsausschank Acham-Magin". His descendants married into Forster families, including the Magin family, and considerably expanded the vineyards. In 1908 Emil Magin was co-founder of the "Verein der Naturweinversteigerer der Pfalz", today VDP-Pfalz. His son Kurt Magin married the winegrower's daughter Anna Elisabeth Hebinger from Deidesheim in 1934. After the early death of her husband, Anna Magin led the winery through the chaos of war with her father and married Anton Acham in 1947. Her daughter Anna-Barbara Acham has been running the estate with Vinzenz Trösch since 1994

The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards in the renowned individual sites of Kirchenstück, Pechstein and Ungeheuer (Forst), Herrgottsacker and Mäushöhle (Deidesheim), and Reiterpfad (Ruppertsberg). They are 75% planted with Riesling, as well as the varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Scheurebe, Portugieser, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Dornfelder and Gewürztraminer. The wines are produced according to the strict guidelines of controlled environmentally friendly viticulture with low pruning in spring, moderate fertilization and use of environmentally friendly pesticides. The grapes are harvested by hand and, after gentle pressing, fermented at low temperatures in wooden barrels or stainless steel, depending on the grape variety and degree of ripeness. The white wines are stored on the for a long time. The red wines mature at least one year in oak barrels. The winery is a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
