2019 Bolgheri Superiore DOC "Marchesale", Tuscany, Italy

Firm and deep, clear, polished, quite noble and fresh nose of ripe black berries with some tobacco, cedary and dried herbal nuances and a little coffee, tar and liquorice in the background. Taut, tart and polished, juicy dark fruit with smoky and somewhat toasty wood aromas, cedary tones, a little pepper, dried paprika and black olives, bitter-chocolate notes on the palate, present yet very fine tannin, some acid bite, a little juniper and tar in the background, also salty minerality, still completely undeveloped, but already shows plenty of complexity and depth, very good, firm, tart and spicy finish with ethereal notes.
