Warm aroma of partly pickled mixed berries with notes of tar, tobacco and dried flowers, some ethereal spice and noticeable alcohol. Ripe, relatively dark, tangy fruit, toasty and very slightly sooty notes, some cocoa and coffee grounds in the background, fine sandy tannin, lots of power and good persistence, some bitterness, again noticeable alcohol, very good, tart, spicy, slightly smoky finish.

Best to drink: 2024-2030+. What our ratings mean
