2019 Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Slightly dried floral to tobacco and a little peppery scent of partly preserved black and red berries, smoky traces and some tar as well as earthy and dried mushroomy tones and a hint of camphor. Taut, tangy fruit with slightly smoky, nutty, dried plant and tobacco notes, lively acidity, present, fine sandy tannins, persistent on the palate, peppery tones, a little cocoa and tar, also salt in the background, has power, a certain freshness, very good, firm finish with spice, grip and bite.

Best to drink: Mitte 2023 bis 2030+. What our ratings mean
